Improving Communication Skills of Posyandu Cadres for Toddlers Through Effective Communication Training

Posyandu cadres for toddlers are at the frontline in community service, required to possess adequate communication skills. A lack of communication skills can hinder the process of conveying health information to the community. The research subjects numbered 31, all Posyandu cadres for toddlers at the Jagir Health Center, Surabaya. Data collection was carried out using a Communication Skills Questionnaire designed by the researchers. The intervention given to the subjects was effective communication training. Hypothesis testing using the parametric paired sample t-test showed a significant difference between pre-training and post-training scores, with post-test scores being higher than pre-test scores (0.039 < 0.05). Therefore, it can be concluded that there is an improvement in communication skills through effective communication training among Posyandu cadres for toddlers
